Build Cardiovascular fitness. Burn fat and excess Calories. It helps cope with the mental and physical stress.
It is used to control frustration that can lead to anger management issues.
Our classes are a structured training environment.
The list of positive benefits that are achieved by joining a boxing program goes on and on. Boxing consists of various body movements which require total body fitness. We teach various calisthenics, bodyweight, and polymeric exercises followed by strength training. We will use various gymnasium equipment from dumbbells to medicine balls to strength bands in order to build total body fitness.
The training Classes start with varied warm up activities and light flexibility. You will learn to shadowbox combining your foot work, head movement, and punching technique, and punching combinations. Punching combinations include the Jab, Straight right (straight left for left hand fighters) the Hook, and the Uppercut. Defensive training involves learning to slip punches; Block punches, Bob and Weave under punches, and create angles to evade punches and attacks. You will learn heavy bag, and speed bag training technique also.
Competing in tournaments is optional. The boxing classes are for anyone, and everyone that always wanted to learn the science of boxing. This team is registered with North Carolina USA Boxing. Our athletes are registered with the United States Amateur Boxing (USA Boxing) team. This team will compete in State Championships, Regional Championships, and National Championships. The athletes that compete in the National Championships may be selected to travel and represent the United States in International events.
